As their main strip. Flicking the tv over I came across the Wolfburg Europa cup game. They play in green as their main strip but cant ever remember a team in englands top divison lining out in green.

I'm not certain but don't Plymouth Argyle play in green?
Report SlippyBlue March 12, 2015 6:59 PM GMT
I ignored the "top divison" bit by the way obviously.

TV companies have banned it. Not enough contrast with the pitch. Mischief

is the correct answer all of them, because they have a goalkeeper?

When I log into betting sites late at night there is often a live streaming of a south American football match and I am sure i often see teams playing in green. The only English team I can think of that plays in green is Plymouth and no team with a green kit as their home strip has ever played in englands top division. Just thought it unusual.

Yeovil wear green and white hoops, same as Celtic.

Bradford Park Avenue, 1914-1919

Burnley wore a green strip in the early years of the 20th century but weren't in the top flight at the time

There may be others

This worth a look:

Just looking, they (Yeovil) appear to have worn mainly green up until 2003...

I think that's it although Norwich have an amount of green on their shirts

And I was about to suggest asking Muntz Street who is a bit of an expert on these things!

i recall when we got our first colour tv in the early 70s, my father used to play about with the sliders to change the colours on the tv set because he was colour blind

half the time even the players heads were green in our living room

One of the Celtic supporters' clubs makes an annual visit to Somerset to watch Yeovil Town. We are a select bunch who play in green.

In Germany there's Werder Bremen as well as Wolfsburg in the 1. Bundesliga, while most punters experienced in the business of trying to smash their way out of a bad weekend on a short 'un on a Sunday night will be familiar with Sporting Lisbon's green and white hoops.

And now that Moyes is working his magic in Santander, the green of Racing Club never seems to be off the screens.

My own club Glentoran have Green tops although our official colours are Green, Red and Black.
Report Mikael D'Haguenet March 12, 2015 8:48 PM GMT
Moyes is manager of Real Sociedad, not Racing.

Panathinaikos another green. They even have a shamrock on their crest.

Liverpool played in Green top but it was their away strip

St Ettiene is another famous green team  .

In England i don't think there has been one ,Norwich i'd say the closest .

Blokes don't seem to like the color green for whatever reason ,when did you last see a bloke dressed in anything green ?
Report Coachbuster March 12, 2015 10:51 PM GMT

One of the first questions Martin Pipe asked when I sent him a filly to train was what colour silks had I chosen. He didn't like green colours at all, though it never seemed to cause a problem with the David Johnson horses.

This was one of the greatest nights for a team playing in a beautiful green shirt.  The captain was even once quoted as saying it was his country's greatest ever win.

Think they wear that as a tribute to Ireland, first team to play them after the war?
