Hi chaps.

I've got a hp laptop that has been a good servant but I want to get something new.

All I need is something that I can web browse and use Microsoft office. There's so many choices out there I havn't got a clue where to start. Not looking to spend a fortune.

Do Ipads have word installed?

Any advice much appreciated

Ipads do not have Word installed.

Moving on to laptops (and PCs) -- if there is no great urgency, I'd be tempted to hang on for Windows 10 to be released. Windows 8 can be very confusing.

Since almost any laptop will be OK for browsing and Word, you should pay careful attention to what some may deride as peripheral considerations -- screen size, whether the screen is shiny (bad because of reflections) or matte, and keyboard layout -- I find some laptop keyboards hard to use.
