For a player with such a low strike rate and self indulgent attitude about his own game and little thought for the team situation it does not make sense that he gets to 50 so many times but then convert half centuries to hundreds so few times. You would think it should be the other way around for such a negative player.

Looking for explanations that make sense the only one I can think of is that when he gets to over 50 his strike rate is so low that he is then forced to catch up at this stage of his innings and he then gets out playing shots on the bowlers terms.

Any thoughts which he has such a low conversion rate of turning 50's into centuries.

Has been moved around the order a fair bit which doesn't help but your point about hitting a 'slow 50' and then feeling the pressure to accelerate is a valid one.
