Bought a hundred crocus last autumn, looked superb today opened in the sunshine.

A Cat dug my Garlic up to have a great big s*#:t in one of my raised beds I dug a border over yesterday and there was more cat s*#:t. And this morning there was a nice tidy portion on my lawn

I don't know what they dislike to be honest, i wish i did This wasn't long after i put the cloves in the bed, before any signs of shoots IIRC.
It wasn't hard to spot, the soil was nice flat and level when the cloves went in, and then there was a mound in the middle of it

I always treat garlic as a catch crop by planting in September where potatoes have been dug. The garlic is harvested in June in time to plant beans on the same plot. I dug some fresh garlic today. The plants are like spring onions and have a nice fresh taste in stir fries.

And as seriously, used to like the programme (still do I suppose) but what's going on a jolly at licence payers' expense to look at plants in South Africa ... I'm sure thay have equally nice plants in Iraq or Syria as well ... got to do with gardening in the UK?
