all very sad and everything but he cost me a nice payout when he died.
I had KLF feat Tammy Winette {Justified and Ancient) to be Christmas number 1 at 14s that year then FM passes away and grabs the Xmas top spot.... KLF were number 1 the week after. :/ |

heard that Freddie wasn't keen on You're my best friend as it was recorded (my favourite Queen track
) didn't like Deacons keyboard sound ,wanted a piano in the background -not sure if it would have worked - but the songwriter always got the last say in the band |

You're my best friend (Deacon) Wurlitzer or Fender rhodes ? Fender for my money |

I thought You're my best friend was one of their rare weak tracks. Soz mate.

I love most of their stuff Canny - prefer a lot of the album tracks to the singles and earlier stuff too .
Death on two legs ,Phrophet's song - absolute class. Good old fashioned lover boy a great song too. Roger could write a song too - gave it a bit of a go . |
|

Roger's my age. Keep going Roger. Wish John would re-join. Paul does a decent job as frontman when they play.
Don't know a great deal of their album stuff. Radio Ga Ga and Don't Stop Me Now my favs. |

I'm listening to the Live Aid for a second time tonight Kenny even though I've watched it loads of times before. Thank you.
One regret in my life was I went out with my mate on the date of the Live Aid Concert while one of our mates stayed in just to watch it. We ribbed him for ages but we were the suckers. What a truly amazing spectacle. |

It was a great gig, O'.Love the way Freddie got the audience to sing his notes.

Queen - an enormously tallented Band and Freddie as the front man - sheer brilliance.

good program [apart from Roger Taylors wig]

I remember watching a DVD of the Wembley 86 concert. It's hard to describe, but he came out with his mic stand, stood in front of the crowd and just lit up when the drums started on One Vision. He had 72,000 people in the palm of his hand within 5 seconds. Very few artists can manage that.

going back to last nights programme - why were they talkimng about Queen being washed up by Live aid ?
wtf ??? they had come back with the Works album well over a year before (Radio GaGa,Want to break free etc ) maybe if they had said 2 years prior to Live aid . ![]() |
|
By:
many people speculated that they were going to split up until Live Aid came along, I have read virtually every biography written about them and that theory has never been confirmed in anything I've read.
