Have been trying to help someone that has Windows Vista operating system and is using Google Chrome as his browser.

My laptop operates on Windows 7 and I normally use Firefox but yesterday I switched to Google Chrome so that when he was following the on-screen instructions I gave him he would see exactly the same information as myself.  Sadly, it didn't work out that way.

When I'm on a thread and click on the 'post reply' button I'm seeing this........

however, he says that although he can see a 'post reply' button he can't see the 'insert photo' button or anything similar that would allow him to insert an image.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what might or might not be going on?

Thanks.

Is he using the classic forum by any chance? He needs to be on the 'new' forum to post pictures. There should be a link at the top of the screen.

That crossed my mind as well, Joel.

I haven't checked with him but I'm assuming he's using the 'new' forum because whenever I've posted a photo on any of his threads in the past he's always made a remark about the photo.

I'll check with him later, just in case.

Thanks.

My forum used to have a habit of switching between the two but it's OK now.....can he see the option to upload a photo? From the My Profile thing on the left?

Thanks to both of you for the replies.

I'll check with him on the points you've raised.

There is also another case to consider, that the bf programmers have broken the software and need a heads up to fix it...happens more than you'd think.

Thanks Petrus, that's a thought. Grin

brendanuk1 - 'live view' - that could well be the source of the problem.  Great work - thank you.
