I've just had a Domino's pizza. It was pretty good!

2 packets of scampi frys.

Just tucking into a large navy rum and coke - with ice.

Any food can wait.

Stella, vodka, red wine and later white wine.

First drink in 12 days.  Ice is a cowards way out imo.

ha! I always have to have ice - in everything. A drink isn't a drink with out cubes!

You live in stoke ffs, not Mexico.  Ice in a drink in Stoke in February?  I've heard it all now.

I often have an ice lolly for 'breakfast' if I feel a bit peckish - even in the middle of winter.
Just an ice lolly - nothing else, well, except a glass of tap water with ice.

I most certainly do - always - as Sparky can testify to from our public house meetings:

"Yes, of course, it's perishing cold but you want ice in your chilled wine. Okay..."

I will make it to stoke one day and buy you a glass of wine.  And I will prove you wrong.  No way you put ice in a glass of wine, I won't let you.

I was in a right rough old boozer yesterday that when I asked for wine.
The barman looked visibly shocked. He then went and searched and brought back two of those 75cl (?) bottles you get on a train and asked which one I wanted.
I picked the least worse of the two and then asked for ice.

"Ice? Er, I'll go and find some"

He then came back with about 6 cubes in an ice bucket and put one at a time into my glass - and looked aghast when I had 4, as though he might have to search for some more! I'd have had all 6 but for the look on his face.

Ice in a glass of vino is just wrong on every level Tommy, usually we agree about most things but you have crossed the line there old stick.

I don't mind people NOT having ice in their wine, so there you go!

I miss the days of rouh old boozers.  You just don't get them down in Brighton and surrounds.  There were a few in Luton, but not many they were closing down pretty sharpish or changing ethos sharpish.  All the rough diamonds in Biggleswade are long gone.  I can imagine Stoke and northwards of is the only chance of finding proper rough boozers now.

I used to love rough boozers.  Even as a youngster.  Even if I was on my own, nothing like them.

People think I'm very strange when I request meeting up in the kind of pubs I suggest - but there's nothing like a rough old boozer.
You want your drink to be interesting (well I do anyway) - and those are the places you get interesting people -not pillocks who don't their @rse from their elbow.

The ones in brum were mental.  Only time I walked out of a pub without buying a drink purely because of feeling intimidated was one near the old rover factory in brum one sunday lunchtime circa autumn 1999.  All good fun in hindsight, but fk me everyone (and the pub was full at 12 noon) and I mean everyone just stared at me like I was some kind of alien the second I entered the pub.  Fully expected to get battered in the car park.  Pub surely closed now.

You get your mentalists in them to be sure, but I'd rather converse with a 'rough old boozer mentalist' than a 'posh pub do you know how much I'm worth/do for a living' bore - any day.

2lbs of oven chips and two cans of heinz baked beans.  Loads of salad cream and salt and vinegar to complement.
