He has received a far bigger sentence than any number of convicted paedophiles "of Pakistani heritage" who groomed, raped and assaulted sexually-underaged white girls across the country for umpteen years.

The maximum he could get was 7 or 8 years but the judge made them consecutive. Good on him.
Reminds me of the old saying....If you can't wait 16 years you'll serve 16 years.
They said with good behavior and early release schemes he could be out by next August.

We seem to be developing the most draconian sex offence laws of any country
I do not like sex offenders more anyone else, but this does not seem justice to me

Vile paedophile Gary Glitter was waved to the cells by desperate fans who arrived in court wearing sparkly outfits to support the fiend.
Despite his history of shocking sex crimes, Glitter was supported in court by a number of people who apparently still consider the child abuser ‘the leader’.
Members of the press and public were stunned to discover the small collection of fans waiting patiently outside Southwark Crown Court from 8am this morning.
Some were dressed in jackets with glitter in them, while others grabbed hold of scrapbooks and magazines of their fallen idol.
Glitter acknowledged the support as he arrived in the dock today, while the fans waved to the disgraced entertainer.
The show of support came after a noted super fan of Glitter posted a message to a social network calling for other fans to join her down at Southwark Crown Court.
Posting on the Gary Glitter. Forever The Leader Facebook page, Claire Shephard wrote: "REQUEST. Direct request. If you can please be at Southwark Court, Friday, 27th February to show your support for Gary, please be there. I will be there from 8am.”

1. I stand by my point that these sex crime sentences are excessive
2. Men are being convicted by totally unsubstantiated claims made by women. As there is little or no supporting evidence.
How on earth is anyone supposed to know whether these women are telling the truth or not.?
3. There should be a time limit. If people feel they been raped or sexually abused, can they please report to the police
at the time of the alleged offence. Not years after. I will make an exception for those abused as children.
4. Sex Offenders are being given lifetime punishments. They cannot leave this country after serving their sentence
This is contravening their basic human rights.
I am actually more concerned about the Ched Evans verdict than this.
That man has had his career and life destroyed by a false rape claim, in my opinion
Yet he cannot pursue his career here or abroad. One of the worst miscarriages of justice I have ever seen.

It appears that the judge was reacting to the current hysterical atmosphere that surrounds any crime involving sex.
Correct Artie. Sex crimes are infinitely more repusive than murder and cause great or mock revulsion.

No surprise to see the Ghost of Jimmy Savillle aka Ebulgerry spouting his repugnant, creepy and hateful views of woman on a sex crime thread.
I think the boy is resentful cos he aint getting enough,btw anyone who says he understands women is way off the mark
Leaving that aside, it is worrying the judge bent the rules to effectively double the sentence. It's a bit like during the riots when kids got six months for stealing bottled water. If the judge thinks the law is wrong, he should write to his MP.

The way we are going it would not surprise me......as I said women rule in our society

It' entirely up to the judge whether he does this and it's not at all unusual or bending the rules to do so when a person is found guilty of completely unrelated offences. If it was then it would lead to the absurd situation where the Crown would hardly ever prosecute unrelated offences on the same proceedings and just run 3 seperate trials against the person so the judge would be able to impose a seperate sentence at the end of each trial.
Never mind the even absurder notion that anyone who knows they already have comitted an offence meriting the maximum sentence can then get their 2nd, 3rd or 4th for free.
