It's well known that being a football team near to a big military presence is curtains for that team's chances.
The naval bases at Plymouth and Portsmouth are examples.
The nearest teams to Faslane ( who knows!) and Rosyth ( Dunfermline ) are shocking.
In the Army the nearest teams to Catterick ( Darlington possibly ) and to Aldershot are dreadful.
Brize Norton is credited as the largest RAF base, and Oxford are pants at football.
Please Mr Defence Secretary, for the sake of my bet on Man City to win the Prem League, do not post any returning soldiers there, thanks.
And in the next defence review, when the SNP are in coalition, could you relocate the nuclear subs they don't want in SCO to a deepwater site on the Mersey, cheers, much appreciated mate.
