what can the little person do at stoke m hospital when the prime minister of the day goes against her officials advising her he's a sex pest and gives the man a knighthood.

A woman on the BBC radio Today programme this morning, claimed she'd worked at Stoke M hospital for decades and had never heard of one allegation or rumour against Saville in all the years she was working there.
She said he saved the hospital from closure and put in hours and hours of work for the hospital.
She hadn't got a bad word to say against him.

I lived near Aylesbury throughout the 70's and 80's.
It was an open secret amongst pretty much everyone that if your child had to go to Stoke Mandeville, you should not let Saville anywhere near them.
As we know, nothing was ever proved and it appears, only one formal complaint was made (then ignored) but for anyone who worked there or lived in Aylesbury Vale not to have heard of the rumours, well, they are lying

With the Pope and The Prime Minister behind him I'm not surprised he got away with it.
people queuing up to come on the tv and say if people had acted on information he,d have been stopped years ago,but if the rumours of a westminister peado ring are true and saville new where the bodies were hid so to speak,who was going to take on establishment and end up under a bus

It took a man who died before there were any rumours. Now there are dozens of 'celebs' being investigated or doing time. Strange imo.
Having said that, if that's just the celebs, just how rife is it in the rest of the community?

Savile got away with it because of many things, but there were a series of missed opportunities, lot of people knew he was creepy and a sex pest.
Very bad error of judgement by Thatcher, the prime minister of the day going against her officials advising her about Savile. And with people like that at the top they made it easier for the vile Savile to carry on and get away with it.

More like 500 a year I would imagine over a 40 year period,he was different class to the Rotherham lot..

More like 500 a year I would imagine over a 40 year period,he was different class to the Rotherham lot..
Times that by the amount of untouchables he knew,makes the Rotherham fiasco look miniscule in comparison...
The people who just turned a ´blind-eye´ are just as vile as savile imo. The nurse came in and told a girl to be quiet and that Savile would not do such a dreadful thing and he raised a great deal of money for the hospital.... All this going on when it was all meant to be such an ´open-secret´.

Does anyone remember the 'modern slavery' case which started out with 3 people held in so-called 'invisible chains' in London in a Maoist colony run by Comrade Bala.
This is still dragging through the courts, all the slavery accusations have been dropped ( except 1 for an odd-date period 1983-1999 ) and almost 20 rape and sex assault accusations are now on the charge sheet.
Something is weird - it seems if you go looking for crimes relating to historic sexy abuse, then you will find them.
