Plenty of excellent British artists about, aka. None of them will win a Brit though, they'll be relieved to know.

That's my point. It's impossible for any credible artist to have the kind of impact that any of those had, even if you are overstating the Who's significance. None of them would win X-Factor!

Madge deserves some credit the way she just carried on, she must have hurt herself it looked a hard fall. All night Ant & Dec going-on-and-on-and-on about Madonna........ and she gets thrown off stage by one of her dancers as soon as she starts singing !!!!

Morpteh Mackem, you're wrong about Florence. She's back with a new album this year and there is even talk of her headlining Glastonbury though i would be surprised. She's certainly going to be doing some very big gigs. I'm not saying i like her (i think she's just average but certainly better than most of that Brit awards dross), but she hasn't gone away.
Florence Leontine Mary Welch was born in Camberwell, London on 28 August 1986. Her British father is Nick Welch, an advertising executive.[5] Her mother, Evelyn Welch, is an American expatriate from New York[5] who was educated at Harvard University and the Warburg Institute, University of London.[6] She is currently Professor of Renaissance Studies and Vice-Principal for Arts and Sciences at King's College London.[7] Nick and Evelyn later divorced in 1990,[8] and both remarried;[9] when she was 13 years old, Welch, her mother, and her two younger siblings moved in with their next-door neighbour and his three teenage children.
