Isn't this type of "progress report" (i.e the lack of) by the police sometimes known as a 'fishing expedition' by the cognoscenti?

Unusual news story, usually you just here someone has been charged, here the BBC are just announcing that since the first allegation someone else has come forward so its multiple allegations now, no charges even mentioned, then you get CR has denied it, usually denials are after charges, guilty or not it does seem that the BBC are going the extra mile on this one.
