if you're self employed and if having a lovely smile is part and parcel of your work, then dental charges are tax deductible.

If you go private, brace yourself before you get the bill

If you want an English dentist you have to go in the morning. Most knock off when it comes to 2.30.

DOES ANYONE Know is it breaking the law in todays multi-cultu ral Britain to cancel a dental app. under these circumstances....
Report lfc1971 February 16, 2015 1:22 PM GMT
I never actually said why I cancelled because I don.t want to hurt anyones feelings....especially foreignours.
Report Thin and Crispy February 16, 2015 6:44 PM GMT
If you had the foreigner I used to have you wouldn't cancel.  A lovely blonde Swedish woman.  It was a pleasure to be drilled by her.

The last dentist I went to, did a bit of a jig in the surgery and mumbled a few words before throwing a handful of bones onto a tray.
After studying them for a minute or two he declared that I needed a scale and polish.

my local dentist sold out to some Asians who as soon as they took over started charging everyone £10/month to be registered with them so I quickly de-registered with them

I'm now with an NHS dentist - mind you the NHS dentist isn't too cheap these days

One thing that did surprise me is treatment is not free for pensioners only for kids and the lazy workshy who get everything paid for and still moan

Had a Nigerian dentist on the NHS many years ago.

He found loads and loads of problems with my pearlies that other dentists had 'failed' to spot. He was determined to fill/pull/cap/xray /scale/ polish every tooth in my head. Cnunt he was

His breath stunk like a rotting month old corpse too.

How can we be sure that they are dentists?
Report Dr Crippen February 18, 2015 11:45 AM GMT
There is one dentist I know of who could always find work in someone's mouth that no other dentist could find.
I went to him and he identified 13 filling that I needed doing.
At that point I'd only got a couple of fillings at the front in my top set.

He must have thought he'd opened a treasure chest when he looked into my mouth.

I asked the nurse who was to arrange the appointments what would happen if I didn't have the work done. She said, ''Oh your teeth will drop out.''

I wasn't having that so I went to another dentist to check this out he said I need one filling.

A asked him about the other twelve fillings I'd been advised to have.

He said ''Well Mr Crippen, I guess you've made a remarkable recovery since then and they won't be needed now.''

Decades later I've only got six fillings, and I visit the dentist every 12 months.
So it goes to show how some dentists create work or used to at any rate.

Been over 10 years since I had an English dentist, and been going to the same place. 3 different ones since, Indian, Indian, and Polish now.  This Polish chap is very good, but the Indian women was one of the best dentists I've ever had. She took her full maternity leave and never come back. But happy with this Polish guy.
Report Dr Crippen February 18, 2015 12:12 PM GMT
My latest dentist is an Indian girl.

She was on holiday last time I went, and her replacement was another Asian woman.
She tried the old trick of applying great pressure on my double teeth with the probe.
Basically trying to create some work.

I stopped her saying ''you're pressing too hard.''

She carried on without the excessive pressure.

I donated my self to the students my local School of Clinical Dentistry.

I would say that 90% of the students where foreign nationals from well to do families. The student who dealt with me was from Dubai. A lovely young lady with a winning smile herself but perhaps her needle skills need honing.
