End of last year my very best and largest "Sabatier" chef's knife, went AWOL.
This is totally ridiculous because it is never in the dish washer, but always washed and dried, and oiled, before putting in the same drawer every time.
This week I realised that my best "Stellar", stainless steel skimmer, was also missing.
Now, if I was disorganised, they might turn up somewhere, but that isn't going to happen having, already looked in the most ridiculous of places!
Obviously there is a connection there as they are both cooking utensils, but which family member or guest is going to sneak off with them?
What has brought this to mind, is that I was looking for a very special photo this morning, and it was with a group of six, always kept in a wallet together.
Got the five that I am not as bothered about, but no sign of the one I want.
Now I hold my hands up, as I have managed to throw things away, not the least of which was my card wallet, which was in my wheely bin, and was fortuitous that I looked
when I was just heading off to the bank to get emergency cash.
What is the most ridiculous item that you have lost in the house?

I once bought a box of 50 bic pens out of Makro. 1 year later the box was dry and I couldn't find a pen for the life of me. None of them ever ran out of ink so it still has perplexed me.

I once put my wallet in the freezer. Took me 2 days to discover it, but not before I'd stopped my bank cards, ordered a replacement bus pass and wasted about 8 hours searching time though, sadly.

Was just about to throw the tv remote in the bin but realised just in time.

A set of 12 'Snap On' hexagon keys in a clasp. Went missing a good 9 months ago. I thought I had thrown them out with some off-cuts of metal. I found them two weeks ago. All I need to do is discover why I had put them on top of the gazebo in the back garden, when all the screws that were tightened were in the front garden. If a bird hadn't flown into an upstairs window I wouldn't have looked out and spotted them.

When my lads were small they had a set of stacking cups that gave me endless hours of peace and pleasure as they kept them occupied for hours building them up and knocking them over, put their toys away one day and 20 years later still haven't found them...!

Is your kitchen bin in a place where you might knock somethng in or are absent minded?
A few weeks ago I knocked something into my bin and dug around the bottom to get it out, also found something ELSE I'd put or knocked in by accident. (If it's open you can knock stuff in off the worktop). I've certainly thrown something in the bin when carrying two things at once and one was supposed to BE in the bin, but my mind was on something else, then realised my istake. |

When one lived at home one day the top of the ali baba washing basket disappeared,2 yesrs later it suddenly reappeared with Roy being blamed for
playing a jolly jape and hiding it for 2 years and then putting it back.Ive no idea about it,but it certainly didn't involve me. |

Another thing I have just remembered....
I bought (just on impulse) a sink plunger. I know where it was, and it's pretty conspicuous having a bright blue handle. Needed it a few months ago and it's nowhere to be seen. |
