When I closed down my PC last night there were updates to be installed. Turned it on this morning,  Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are working okay, but IE won't load anything at all, and this message came up

'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage'

Any whizzkids got any idea why this has happened?

Closed down and unplugged my PC, waited 5 minutes then switched it back on, IE is working now.

Firefox is only used for Betfair, Chrome for the forum and Facebook, IE for everything else.

That's a bit weird.

These are two screenshots of the same page, before I clicked on 'submit post'

The one that looks normal is Internet Explorer.

The one with faint typing is Google Chrome.

Faint typing but pretty clear once it comes up on the screen after submitting it.

That must be quite a common setup, I remember SqueezeFirmly having an almost identical tri-browser arrangement.

System restore - then let it do the updates again.

Have noticed more and more sites having issues with IE over the past few weeks. Some sites don't even load at all. I think IE is a dead duck, and who watches a dead duck? Not even it's mother, she just flies off, depressed.
