Poshness may be getting a bad rep, but you're an out and out “U”, as Nancy (Mitford) would say.

Very surprised that I am "in the middle"!

Notwithstanding that, and at the risk of being ridiculed, I will admit to a massive "faux pas" in my very early teens.

I can't recall what this was in aid of, but I had to write to someone about my background.

Amongst the rest of things, I wrote that that I was from "a middle class background" and to confirm the fact,
that my father was "a foreman bricklayer"!!

Don't know why I never heard back from them but I can imagine the hysterical laughter from them.....Laugh

"Common as muck." I would have backed myself at a shade of odds on to get that result.

I particularly like the hats in the picture.

If gangsta rappas wore them instead of baseball caps, they'd be a lot less threatening.

I'm common as muck Sad

It's a shame, I think if I'd been able to point out I use 8 ply toiletpaper and give the bathroom a good spray afterwards, which is really classy, I'd have went up a notch.

My result was something like:

"Bravo, old chap.  Poshness has a bad rep, but you're an out and out 'U' as Nancy Mitford would say."

Stewie Griffin wears red trousers and he's quiet posh, so I think the test is accurate.
By:

When: 07 Feb 15 19:28
I don't wear red trousers and ticked the box that said "don't know what ????? means.  Still returned a posh rating at ther end for some reason.
By:

None of my answers made me think I would receive a posh rating.

One was quite shocked.

Can't remember all the questions, but I don't wear red trousers, call a dessert a dessert, call a toilet a toilet, drink whatever is available before dinner, know what special brew is and call my mates my mates.

How on earth does this make me posh?
By:

When: 07 Feb 15 22:35
Stewards Enquiry, I answered exactly the same to those questions as Torquemada did and yet he's deemed to be posh and yet I'm trailer trash. Sad

It must have hinged on the other Qs but I can't remember what they were.  It certainly wasn't "do you have a butler?" or "do you live in a castle?"

I'll take the test again now and see if it returns the same result.

This is a proud moment. I would like to thank my friends, my school and, above all, my mother, for her consistent and prolonged boycotting of ITV on the grounds that only common people watched commercial television.
