Steamship this maybe aint the same but I chucked my job to take early retirement at 55.
Was well paid and came with a company car. My pension is obviously a lot less than my salary was but I've never been happier. |

I've been quitting my job for the last six years and am now deeper in a rut than i was before. If only i could learn to act on instinct rather than listen to my cautious brain.  |

If only i could learn to act on instinct rather than listen to my cautious brain.Plain it's not all about balls. a lot depends on your circumstances: Young family and a mortgage to pay - you tend to stick with it, however much you hate it. older person, mortgage paid off, kids flown the nest, no debt - it's a lot easier to do |

I want to do it but the older you get the less you want to do it.
I can earn twice my wage if i leave. But at the moment if i die my family get 125k and my pension is 25/40. So if i stay i can retire at 58 for pension reasons and then leave. |

My position was not as difficult as it will be for some. I'm separated, my daughter is 20 and lives with her mum. I will be leaving the house which I rent from the guy I worked with and will move in with my mum till I get sorted out probably a couple of months. I do have outgoings and not a great deal of money, but I knew that if I did not put myself in this position then I would keep taking the crap. I can fall back on the other job, but I d feel a lot better after just three days. |
