Hmm, do you need them fitted kwikly?
Report Aunty Post February 6, 2015 11:12 AM GMT
Fitting tyres is not rocket science. Balancing the wheels needs a bit more skill.

When you say fitting are you meaning supply and fit?

Not the best idea to use a main dealer for this kind of thing, and including batteries, exhaust replacement etc.

The main dealer will be way out on price, so just "let your fingers do the walking" and get a quote from as many as you can be bothered with,
and then ask for a better price, particularly if you are getting a full set!

If you are able, check the wheel nuts whoever you use.

I only ever had one problem which could have been serious.

Went straight off on business and, after about fifteen miles on the A1, I got a wheel wobble that could be felt badly
through the steering wheel and through the car generally.

Pulled over as quickly as possible an the nuts on a front wheel were loose.

What they hadn't done was to make certain that the chamfers on the nuts were properly seated when they tightened them.

I would agree with Ken

Got 2 new ones recently.

I used the local garage via Black Circles. Quoted £62.92 lower than the main BMW dealer. Only thing is you normally have to wait a few days for fitting.

Aunty Post the exact thing happened to me after I had taken my car to quick fit to get a couple of front tyres.3 miles up the road the front wheel started to wobble violently......The useless **** never did the nuts up properly.

It's a serious issue acey deucy. Someone who didn't react quickly enough (elderly or whatever) could easily be the cause of
of a catastrophic multi vehicle pile up!
