Did have sympathy for the truck driver he ran in front of...no, could have caused death and carnage in the accident the selfish loony ****!

Jason Roberts was there first. I find it highly ironic that he bleats about racism whilst failing to recognise this is the only reason he gets the punditry work he does.
I have some sympathy with some of Ralf Littles views. Depression is no excuse for drink driving or self destructive behaviour when those closest suffer.
Very hard to comment unless you feel the sense of helplessness that people with suicidal tendencies must have.

So already I wish I hadn’t said anything, not because I regret the comment, but because the choice of forum was wrong and frankly understandable if people are riled up.

Clarke and I have history, that involves money, lies, on one notable occasion me being interrogated by the police over something I knew nothing about… and all sorts of other stuff.

Probably both. Some people do really stupid and selfish things and then are genuinely contrite afterwards but they keep engaging in the self destructive behaviour which ripples out to others and eventually some friends and family stop forgiving them and cut them loose and others stick around trying to help becoming more and more exhausted.
It is quite a saddening story. I've always been a football fan but I must admit I'd never heard of Clarke Carlisle until five years ago. It's been pretty well documented that he's a footballer with a brain in his head compared to some of them.
I know a lad who was a trainee at Notts County a couple of years ago, and the manager/coaches were chucking bananas at some of the black lads and being genuinely disgusting towards them. The lads didn't know whether to speak up about what was going on (and possibly ruin any chance they had of signing a pro contract) or turn a blind eye because it wasn't directed at the majority of them. Anyway it all came out in the open and the FA conducted their own investigation into it. Clarke was the man who did most of this, phoning up the lads and visiting them at their homes.

Sounds like ralf may have been on the wrong end of a bad loan.

No, that's half the issue with Carlisle. He, and others, think he has more of a brain in his head than he really has. You only need listen to his pundit work to see he is a bluffer. Hence, while I have every sympathy with depression, I suspect many of his issues come from how he has recently been 'found out' about his lack of grey matter and he isn't being hero-worshiped and listened to any longer.

Nobody asked the question, why was this originally reported as a crash by the media, only now revealed he walked into the road and as you say traumatised an innocent lorry driver in the process. Hopefully he sues for the physical and emotional distress.
Its time he grew a fookin pair 5 or is it 6 times now drink driver/innocent lorry driver involved and traumatising his closest family .

I've seen people with severe depression sit for weeks and in extreme circumstances months doing nothing and having to be washed dressed and even turned in bed to stop them developing pressure sores. Cod diagnosis but I'd say he may have some obsessive compulsive type personality disorder.
On his commentary I think he suffers the same delusions as Garth Crooks. He's clearly reasonably intelligent but he seems to want to present an image of himself as being more cerebral than he is and it doesn't come across well because it is forced.
Fact is, if the guy has been done for drink-driving five or six times, he is a recidivist criminal and should have been jailed more than once, depression or not.

Little is spot on, too many harp on and blame all of lifes ills on "depression". What exactly is depression......what is the difference between depression and being very sad.....nothing except the spelling
I'm depressed when I leave the bookies most days but I don't go looking for fast moving lorries.

Racingqueen if you had it would know the difference. I really hope you or any of your friends or family ever suffer from it because unlike other inllness's you can't see it. So before you actually make statements like you have read about it. I will tell you its a horrible illness.
Your mental health is as important if not more than your physical health. And yes depression exists. Weather people use it as an excuse of other things i don't know. But people who have genuine depression suffer and it really is a terrible illness. I bet most people will know someone who has suffered with it and their are alot of people more than reported lost to it every year. So before making such ingnorant statements maybe do some research on it. This has nothing to do with Clark Carlisle but depression in general.
