Today - for an hour I was the most Westerly Person on dry land on the Planet

The good news it was the Annual Kiribati Ocean Swim today and everyone participates, so you must have been told the truth.

the Hobbits re at MATAMATA- we did Hobiton a few of years back as they were starting to tart it up for the Hobbit films- the party tree is real
was driving the East Cape on the 6th- as we drove through town of Gisborne it had a quake- i didn't notice anything- it was a bit cold- 18C- so after stopping for a few minutes we headed south to Napier- recommend Churchill for fine steaks / wines.
