Steven Fry talking sense on Gay Byrne show

Poor Gay, shoulda stuck to the Late Late show.
Hard to argue against Stephen Fry, talks sense.
I've never ever heard a bible basher give a good answer to why we have children born only to die a slow lingering death through malnutrition.

I do not any sense in gay marriage
still Steven Fry is an intelligent man

Of course. There's nothing better for helping to bring children into the world and rear them in a stable environment. Marriage and commitment to it helps promote that stability.

Which isn't to say that I have a problem with homosexuals getting married if that's what they want as long as they don't coerce the religious officiator into performing the service.

Byrne asked a very predicable question (or variation of) to a well versed, well rehearsed athiest. Fry wasn't thinking off the cuff. I heard him give the same sort of reply for years to this sort of question.

Byrne was sucker punched, and should have interjected Fry's diatribe instead he just sat back and listened for a couple of minutes to what was in effect, a speech by Fry.

Interesting nonetheless; and Fry is without doubt, extremely articulate

Fox I don't know how common place this is but I went fishing with my father in law once along with his mate who kept maggots in his mouth to keep them fresh.
Honest. I couldn't even look at him and it put me off ever going back with them.

aka a simple argument well put by fry, I have no doubt he could have taken it to various levels, but sometimes a simple message is the most effective, as it was in this case. Not a Byrne fan myself, works well in a room full of Culchies. Cue incoming .

I sometimes accompany my wife to the kirk and have spoken to the minister.
He's never gave me a satisfactory answer yet to the realities of life v the loving god that he preaches.

Well if we were all hetro life would go on.
You can't say the same if we were all gay.
I suggest we go back to the days when being gay meant being happy.

He is a very intelligent man. But think he is just besotted with this young lad who looks like a spotty teenager, and nowhere near the same intellectual level as Fry.

Still, good luck to 'em, no issue with gay people, but these 2 just don't look right together.

Well this is nothing to do with a meeting of the minds...it is about love or lust, whatever you prefer
which is how most of us pair up, although as long as they care for one another, that is all that matters, surely?

My issue is with the word marriage, one cannot pretend than what two people of the same sex have
