Morrisons is in a mess but with the right person in charge it would be easier to turn round than Tesco.

Having worked for two of the competitors in the past I know the pitfalls of bad public relations.
Do tescos not have more funds to mount a comeback against the cheaper aldis

Hate Tesco. Their Bakery Project is a shambles - lovely if you like stale bread hooked out of the freezer that very morning, and was shocked by the number of products - including fresh meat and veg - all on sale for full price on their best before date when I had to go in between Christmas and New Year. Was taking the p*ss. Sh*te place.

Maybe it's  cheaper to throw the stuff away than pay someone to reduce it.

Waitrose expanding and opening new stores - most excellent products (& M&S food also good imo - and growing).

Aldi & Lidl gaining market share - good value.

Tesco, Sainsburys (both closing stores) & Morrison all going one way - the other way.

Don't the people that run these businesses ever stop and think for even one minute ... Why is that, what are we doing wrong.
I feel really sorry for people who work for Tesco etc.  Their leaders are absolute morons.

I have posted on here before about appalling top mgt in many UK business. I used to be a mgt consultant and made a good living advising thickos who ran businesses - auto, computer etc etc.  You just wouldn't believe most of them ... lots of words and hip business jargon, but no brains.

I think bringing in self service checkouts was the day Tesco jumped the shark

My opinion of shares is that they should be traded, based on their price action.
Buy them when they appear ready to go up, and get out fast when the market begins to stall.
Under no account hold them in a falling market.

I'm not at all happy with buying individual stocks for the long term.
Granted this has proved successful for some, but it's not for me.

Tesco has created a lot of ill feeling by trying to rule the world and taking advantage of it's customers. It also has too many huge fixed overheads to turn it round quickly. It's shops and logo now look dated and tired.

Aldi have raised the bar a bit -not hard to see the secret there , efficient workforce ,basic requirements in store and limited range /stock of perishables .

In fact  when buying 'fresh' from Aldi make sure its consumed within a short space of time or it will rot before you have a chance to eat it  .

Cant knock the Specially select range though -
it's superb .

Everything else i tend to get at Sainsburys - quiet and less hulabaloo, better quality  than Tescos etc  .

Morrisons do nothing for their shoppers.  Even their food which is out of date the next day they rarely drop the price more than 20%.  I do not like Morrisons at all after shopping there for a good while.  My food is now got from my local farm shop, Lidl, Aldi, B&M & Farmfoods.  I get 90% what we need from the named above.  My local farm shop does great steaks, Chicken & eggs.
