Going there for over a  week this summer and hoping I might be able to get some advice on places to stay and things to do. It would not normally be a place I would have went to but it was the handiest stop off point enroute to Macedonia where I am going to a family wedding. I will be travelling with a group of family members so a reasonably priced hotel would be best as it would suit everyone. But I would like to book a really nice hotel with views for one or two nights coming back from Macedonia for my own family.

At the minute looking at some hotels in Perea which is the seaside area on the outskirts but I would also like to stay a few nights in the city part, preferably in an old time part.

Went there in 1997 following a very long train journey from Budapest and before a very long train journey to Istanbul.  Remember there was a place that claimed to sell the best Moussaka in Greece.  Dont think I had time to try it but I remember thinking what a bold claim and that I would be sure to hunt down the restaurant to test out the restauranter's assertion if I ever returned.

I was there in 1979.  At night you could smell the sewerage pumped into the sea.

i can recommend it, took my kids a for a week one half term when we didn't want to go far afield, i hate all inclusive usually, this place did it as well as you could expect, one of the few breaks i've taken with the family where every single one of them loved it

I refuse to go to any place where you have to put toilet paper in a bin after you have wiped your backside.

I refuse to go to any place that uses the appalling, non-entity Aubergines in their Moussakas and claim them 'the best in Greece'!

Yeeeeeeeuk!
