I would contend that it's unnatural for men to be monogamous, so we should be readily forgiven infidelity.  Although I'm married, it's not actually an issue for me as my wife and I are both active members in Liverpool's swinging circles.

They are excused in many countries, including france.

The only requirement is that you are discrete about it. Infedility is fine but causing your partner to lose face will get your b0ll0cks chopped off.

The concept of one woman for life is just plain ridiculous. Marriage under those conditions doesn't make sense to me.

We are biologically made to roam, it is nature taking its natural course.

it isn't even about pretty and ugly. It is about new and old. You could have the prettiest girl in the world but the only thing that will stop you turning your head to look at another pretty one is if you are fearful of losing what you have and never getting anything similar again.

Take that fear away and all men would cheat. Not that it should be called cheating, as cheating implies wrongdoing and you are just being normal.

Sooner or later, if you act on it or not, you will always want someone new. Same as we all want new life experiences in general.

I will have to ask my local imam if he will show leniency and advocate 100 lashes instead of death by stoning.

I think the que3stion would be more easily answered once the matter of supporting and nurturing the offspring of this infidelity.
Will you be supporting all of your children and their mothers? Will you be ensuring that they have warmth and shelter? Will you be sharing the trials and tribulations of actually making these children into well-balanced young adults, ready to face the world?

If the answer to any question is negative...then, NO. Infidelity is NOT alright.

I do not think infidelity is as a victimless crime as much as many people claim.
It often comes to light, and can cause great pain and feeling of betrayal including to myself.

Women have complained in the past that men can do this but they cannot.
But nowadays they appear to have caught up, if not taken the lead.

There is a cost to society as naydam says, so I agree with him it is NOT alright.

Every time we drop our moral values of the past our society suffers.
I would allow people to sow their wild oats before they are married, but not after.

I would be honest and say we are NOT monogamous by nature, but I still believe in fidelity

The rules of 'Brief Encounter' still hold with me, but sadly not necessarily elsewhere
