Didn't Tony Blair join in the campaign to get her out of jail when she was jailed for mortgage and credit card fraud ?

He thought Deirdre was a real person.

John Prescott definitely thought she was for real and half the labour cabinet.

How can they tell that she's stiffer than normal?

"a fine actress rip"
You missed the question mark out after that sentence. I thought she made copious amounts of money out of a limited talent. |
|
By:
no moves........i agree she was a very limited actress but off screen seemed a nice woman

If Deirdre barlow gets all this fuss then, by rights, Dot Cotton should get a state funeral.
|

Not a lot of respect for Ann
![]() She played Deidre for 42,yes 42 years ...way more than the marvelous Dot Cotton. She has been someone us soap fans have grown up and grown old with. She was always a central figure ...she was many things but she was never dull in tribute to the Deidre Specs |

aa.......she was no meryl streep but her double act with her mother was comedy gold

the guy who played Billy Walker was on Radio5 last night saying what a good actress she was when she first joined the cast. He tried to push her into doing different things but he says she was quite happy just being in Corra all the time, he said she could have been another Sarah Lancashire which is quite high praise.

First appeared in "Sunday and Sweet FA" (1972), which I watched when repeated 3 or 4 years ago.
A play about Sunday Football in the north, Kes style, very good, and quite funny. |
