Renowned fitness instructor, model and actor Greg Plitt has died after being hit by a train in Southern California.

The 37-year-old had been filming on the tracks with two other men when he was struck by a passenger train, police said.

Witnesses told investigators they saw Plitt standing on the track north of the Burbank station even as the train's horn was blaring.

Investigators have ruled out suicide.

Greg Plitt, born George Plitt Jr, had featured on over 200 magazine covers, primarily fitness magazines.

His workout videos on YouTube regularly attracted millions of viewers.

Editor-in-chief of Muscle & Fitness magazine

It is not immediately clear what the group had been filming, although some reports suggest it was an advert for protein shake.Silly

Accuse us of being silly.
Standing on live/in use railway tracks who is the silly 1.
I have very little sympathy for folks who throw their lives away through unbelievable stupidity.

Coulter said the two-person crew told him Plitt was attempting to get action shots —possibly playing off the old Superman expression that the superhero is "more powerful than a locomotive" — for a video to go on his website.

Coulter said he the film crew told him Plitt misjudged the situation and tripped and fell before he was hit by the train.

"He just made a mistake," Coulter said. "It was just a freaky moment where something got out of control."

Plitt's girlfriend, Christina Stejskal, told The Times he was "just trying to get the best shot."

Silly
