On January 19th 2008 the New Horizons space craft headed off on a 9 year journey to visit the planet Pluto.
Since then little Pluto was dumped out of the set of planets in our solar system because it was classed as too small and of no interest to anybody.
When the New Horizons Space craft reached Jupiter it got an unexpected boost from the planets gravity hurling the space craft towards  Pluto at a 8000 thousand mile an hour faster speed. this had cut the journey time to Pluto to 7 years
Now the NH space craft is expected to reach Pluto in July this year.
Seems like little Pluto is soon to be back in the big time.

I can name Charon, Nix and Hydra as 3 of its 5 Moons as an Astronomy geek but it's a messed up system and dangerous for New Horizons to navigate through.

Looking forward to the encounter.

There has been some speculation in the astronomy community in the last few days that there may be a couple more planets beyond Neptune and Pluto of which we have until now been unaware.

It really is quite sobering to realise how little we know of our environment.

The best of all is that the universe is made of 95% dark energy .
But the experts say that dark energy can not be seen, and they don't know how to find it.And best of all they don't know what it is.
but they call it dark energy.Sounds to me that nobody knows anything and they are all giving their own opinions.
The latest news is that Einsteins idea about everything may be wrong.
And some say that the big bang had no gravity in it,and gravity invented itself a few million years later.
