Whooo-haaaa !

Two people have been killed in an anti-terror operation in eastern Belgium, officials say.

Prosecutors said a third person was wounded in the raid in the town of Verviers. No police or members of the public were harmed, they added.

Magistrate Eric Van der Sypt told reporters that the suspects had been about to carry out a major terrorist attack, but did not give details.

He added that anti-terror raids were also under way in the Brussels region.

"The suspects immediately and for several minutes opened fire with military weaponry and handguns on the special units of the federal police before they were neutralised," he said.

Witnesses in Verviers reported hearing heavy gunfire for several minutes and at least three explosions.

More hostages been taken near Paris, not reported on the mainstream though.

It is unclear if this is a continuation to the tragic events from last week, and if there is any terrorist component to this situation, however it is worth noting that there were overnight warnings of more potential cells and attacks by ISIS-related elements.

Some more from RT:

Three people have been taken hostage by an unknown gunman at a post office in Colombes, a northwest suburb of Paris, French media reported.

The gunman is armed with a Kalashnikov rifle, French RTL radio reports. He is holding from two to five people hostage, Le Figaro reports, citing police sources.

He's given himself up, not considered a terrorist.

" ... before they were neutralised"  Love it. I hope many many more are neutralised.
