Mr Emerson's comments about Birmingham and London led to many reacting on hashtag #FoxNewsFacts.
Some accused him on his investigative website of "speaking nonsense" and called his claims "utter rubbish". Birmingham Edgbaston MP Gisela Stuart called the comments "stupid" with "no redeeming features". "I checked whether this was some kind of early April Fool spoof, and then I thought he was talking about Birmingham, Alabama, but then I realised he was just utterly and completely wrong," the Labour MP said. Mr Emerson, who founded a group called The Investigative Project on Terrorism, was giving his perspective on the terror attacks in France to Fox presenter Jeanine Pirro. A witness called to testify to at least one Congressional committee, Mr Emerson later apologised and has offered to make a donation to Birmingham Children's Hospital. "I have clearly made a terrible error for which I am deeply sorry," he said. "My comments about Birmingham were totally in error." He said he would be issuing an apology on his website for "this comment about the beautiful city of Birmingham". "I do not intend to justify or mitigate my mistake by stating that I had relied on other sources because I should have been much more careful. "There was no excuse for making this mistake and I owe an apology to every resident of Birmingham." More than 1,000 people have signed an online petition calling for Mr Emerson to make an "on-air apology to the people of Birmingham UK for saying non-Muslims cannot enter our beloved multi-cultural city". |

Steven Emerson has come from the future, like Marty McFly did.

I think he was simply jumping the gun.
What he should have said is that this what the whole of Birmingham will be like in so many years time. He'd have got away with that, no trouble. |

That was the case in Handsworth as long as 30years ago, folk rolling spliffs in the street due to no police presence. Even the chip shop we used while on a delivery, had an iron cage on the counter and money was exchanged by sliding it under the cage on ordering. ![]() |

He also nailed the incidents of muslims physically assaulting members of the public for drinking and women wearing the wrong clothes, he just made a huge hash of it

All said it was not true. Channel 4 reporter signed off "..... reporting from Birmingham and totally feeling safe". Implying that an all Muslim city would not be safe ![]() |

The demographic make up of large parts of the city have changed radically over the last 20 years as a result of multiculturalism, as demonstrated by the elected councillors for the following wards:

Central news said that Brummies felt anger, were surprised and thought it was funny that the bloke got his facts wrong. Guess what part of the "community" felt anger?
|
|
By:
As someone who lives in West Brom and works in Brum Emerson has his facts wrong.
It is probably the best example of multiculturalism working in a city in the UK. I don't know any area which is no go for whites, blacks, Asians or anybody else. Handsworth which is often put forward as a no go area for whites is nothing of the sort. Anyone who remembers the Trees pub or the (in)famous Monte club will know that. Before pubs opened all day on a Sunday it was the place to go - especially after a Baggies match. But must admit I don't like Alum Rock. |

i worked in alum rock for a bit

Don't know Wembley much as Baggies don't get there very often. But as far as I can remember it's not in Brum.
