I have recently been lambasted due to not leaving a message on Facebook for a friend that passed away.

Was quite shocked and was told that I did not care.

Forgive me for wishing to be traditional and keep my thoughts for the funeral.

Antisocial websites such as this one are a welcome respite imo. Maybe you could leave a few kind words on Bloodstock & Breeding?

I definitely have internet addiction.

I went to see my GP about it.

"Doctor, I can't stop updating Twitter," I said.

"Sorry, I don't follow you," he replied.

God knows what the situation will be in the future.  Everybody will be linked into the web/matrix and your every thought/action will be there for scrutiny.  And not being part of it will mean that you won't be able to function in society.

I hate "social media".

I wouldn't be friends with or employ anyone who uses it, and said so on my facebook page and twitter feed.

Kids today grow up thinking its the norm to have every detail of their life available for the whole world to look at.  The consequences of this aint gonna be good but those who are brought up with it will just accept it.

There doesn't seem to be a day goes by now that an angry mob on twitter/faceburks are outraged at something and forcing people to bow to their mob mentality. I still can't get over that probe scientist actually crying and apologising because he wore a funny cartoon shirt with women in bikinis with guns on it, and the ****s in the social media mob went after him like he'd just eaten a live kitten.

You just want some better friends, they sound like twats. Spend a bit more time on there, and you might meet someone.

As any Facebook user should be able to tell you, you can adjust your settings so that the 'whole of the world' doesn't see your stuff.

You can have friends only, friends of friends, or public.

Pretty much any group of teenagers now in a town centre it seems aren't talking to each other, they are likey to be sitting silently hunched over their phones. Sometimes they look at each other and smile as, rather than use their mouths, they've said something on their ****ing phones. I've been in restaurants and even women in their early 20s who you might thing you couldn't shut up if you tried, are sitting in silence at the table doing the same.

They might as well have got a carry out and sat in their houses, saved the journey.
