Contrary to popular misconception, Islam does not mean peace but rather means submission to the commands of Allah alone. Therefore, Muslims do not believe in the concept of freedom of expression, as their speech and actions are determined by divine revelation and not based on people's desires.
So, Anjem, what you are saying, quite clearly and in your own words, is that there is no chance of a reasoned debate with you. Therefore, you should not be given the opportunity to "discuss" matters, especially on popular media outlets, as you have just made clear that there is no "discussion" to be had. Thank you for clarifying this issue and please be sure to let any media outlets know that it is pointless having you on in future. A discussion, or debate, involves more than one point of view, each of which has "reasoning" which may be challenged. This is a pillar of civilisation. Any "religion" that is compulsory and offers no chance for discussion is afraid of being found out for the sham that it might be. |

I respect his right to believe the moon is made of cheese if that is his thing. And if submission to the will of Allah is also more important that the rule of our law I also respect his view. The problem is it is incompatible with what has become a largely secular nation. So he needs to move to a place in line with his views. Simple as that.
