Help with Hotmail/Outlook

Apologies if this topic has been covered before, but wondered if anyone can help. I cannot access (open) my e-mails and the message indicates my account may have been hacked for bank details etc. I suspect an enforced changeover from Hotmail to Outlook has caused these problems. The big problem for me is that when I attempt to contact Outlook/Hotmail/Microsoft to report problem I get the "connection not private" message and cannot even get to the page giving the helpline no. As is obvious, I am in no way computer literate and would appreciate any help/advice.
