That was an excellent programme.
Well worth catching up with on the iplayer. |

If anyone wants to catch up with this programme about how darts gained it's popularity in this country, you can watch it here.
Some great old footage of the 70s and 80s, as well as interviews with Bristow and co: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0287mq6/timeshift-series-14-3-bullseyes-and-beer-when-darts-hit-britain |

Hi, Tommy. I really enjoyed this show, some great memories.
You would think now it was a simple idea to use the split screen, but the cameraman who came up with the idea changed the face of TV darts, which was waning at the time. Arrows followed this programme when they both first aired, which was also a decent show about Bristow starting out. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b04v6f99/arrows |

Yes BobbyPeru, it was definitely the cameraman suggesting the split screen that made darts what it has become.
I wonder if he got a bonus for it? Although I doubt he would have done. I'll catch up on 'Arrows' when I can. Cheers. |

Yeah, this was a really good programme - keep bbc4, as it's the only decent bbc channel.

It's the best channel on the box, for me, Vel.

I agree Tommy, absolutely.........except for E4, True Entertainment, Movie Mix, Movies4men, 24-7PandaVoyeur and CurrentBunSagaTV, about the ongoing mess at The Rangers FC.

Do Stoke City FC 'ave their own channel, Tommy?
I see Stoke on 'Omes Under 'Ammer all the time so I does. |
|
By:
The official Stoke City FC site has videos on it that you can only watch if you pay a subscription, Vel (which I won't do) but they don't show any of the matches live, that I'm aware of anyway.
I suppose Stoke is on 'Omes Under 'Ammer' frequently because it's still very cheap to buy property here compared to the rest of the country. Some very nice properties too - in good areas. It's not all a dump - believe it or not! |

No, I can see that Tommy - why, some of them 8 bedroom Stoke properties were going for as much as £15,000...
