They might be able to relate more to the man on the street if they weren't called such stiff traditional names like Andrew, William, George and Charles,  could gain more popularity if there were a Prince Dave, a Prince Barry or a Princess Cardonnay

The Duke of York has been promoted to the rank of vice-admiral, according to the latest Royal Navy appointments published in the London Gazette.
The notice stated: “Her Majesty The Queen has graciously agreed that: Rear Admiral His Royal Highness The Duke of York KG GCVO ADC be promoted Vice Admiral with effect from 19 February 2015.”

The so-called "tough" British media has kept an alarmingly straight and supine face to the news that Prince Andrew would "host a reception of business people" at the World Economic Forum at Davos.

Has no-one thought to question why this virtually unparalleled non-entity is there, presumably representing Britain in some official capacity, and at grotesque expense to the taxpayer?

Couldn't Britain have fielded a representative of greater depth and gravitas, perhaps Eddie The Eagle or even the mighty Anton de Berk?

When I heard he was becoming a vice-admiral I thought that's not going to help his underage prostitute sex case.
