I've been looking forward to this since the end of the last series.

Thought I'd better start a thread for Broadchurch chat.

Series 1 was the 21st century version of the Emperors New Clothes ......dull as dishwater & ludicrously overhyped.

I'll help you out Makybe - yes I watched the first series and thought it was excellent. I too have been looking forward to the second series since the end of the first, but am a bit apprehensive that it won't be a patch on series one and should have been left as a stand alone effort.

About to go and get cracking on this one. Back tomorrow - let me know what you think. (Make sure you catch up on Undateables too).

Thanks, Roger Happy

I was apprehensive about a second series of Broadchurch but I don't think we will be disappointed.

I'll watch Undatables tomorrow.

It must be dreadful to find out your partner had commited a dreadful crime. Your life would be ruined.

Unofficial witness protection. That doesn't bode well.

some good judges on here been lambasted on social media, people having to use subtitles because they couldnt understand a word tennent said

I thought that was excellent.

First series a tough act to follow but very good acting, lots of tension and feeling in the courtroom scene, interesting other storyline overlapping now with the case before Tennant moved to Broadchurch rearing its head.

Looking forward to the rest of the series, promises to be just as good as the first series.

Not concurring with the subtitles thing - I quite often put subtitles on American films so I don't miss anything but didn't miss a thing Tennant said last night. Was probably just the grouch brigade who were determined not to like it for whatever reason they could think of.

Series 1 was hugely overrated for my money.

Series 2 has become just plain embarrassing. The 'celebrity' actors are presumably there in a failed attempt to add phoney gravitas and divert attention away from the feeble script and story?

I lasted fifteen minutes of episode one, absolute rubbish, and what is it with the annoying music all the time.

Tennant saunters towards fridge for a can, music, smacked arse face checks a message on her phone, more high pitched music, arrrgh just fck off.

After episode 1 which I thought was really good (though starting to think I just wanted it to be really good) it has been quite average.

Convinced the woman he has had in witness protection is going to be the Sandbrook killer.
