The return of the documentary in which high-profile enthusiasts pay tribute to British motorsport greats. Jim Moir - aka Vic Reeves - tells the life story of former motorcycle racing world champion Barry Sheene, revealing how he rose to the top of his sport and became a hugely popular public figure. When I was 20, in 1978 I got a red mini, most of my mates had bikes, if I'd had one, I think I would have been dead in 2 years.

I read a book not long ago about MZ and Suzuki and the development of 2 stroke. Back in the 60s and 70s the way you had to ride one of these bikes trying to keep then in their power band was basically suicidal, the amount of riders killed per season was crazy.
I think Barry Sheene still holds the lap reacord at one of main GP tracks to this day something averaging over 137mph |
