Reaching the limit now.

I understand commercial companies need them but with the upturn in subscription channels they would realise and react.

Ben Hur lasts 3h32m, that is with editorial cuts.

So on for 4 hrs on c5 today. 13% was adverts, for every 10 mins of tv you were watching 83sec of adverts.

It's the adverts that suddenly fill the computer screen that annoy me.  I find it incredible that some advertisers think it's a good idea.  It's bloody rude and puts me off their products.

The advertising industry really hasn't caught up with modern consumption trends.  They have got less smart at getting the appropriate amount and method of advertising to the consumer, rather than more smart.
The trend is increasingly to bombard, overplay and annoy the viewer, which leads to cheapening the product and alienating the consumer.

Think of all the best ads you can remember - bet they were all from about 20+ years ago when they were clever, inventive, catchy, memorable and thoughtful.  Now, most ads just irritate the hell out of us (eg, Go Compare, most betting company ads, wonga type loans, etc).

Try surfing through the channels, and it's a better than evens chance that you will be on an ad break!

Incidentally I don't want a ferking "Snow Leopard" as they are better off where they are.

Would like to know what they do with the money that's left after advertising costs (if any) and mailing out photos, and certificates,
of your allocated animal.

I will stick my neck out and say that everyone else's photos look exactly like mine!
