Widespread coverage this morning that umpteen footballing people (naturally all men of unimpeachable integrity and honesty) have been taken for thousands in some sort of pitiful and laughable scam involving hampers. Oh dear, how sad, never mind.
And no, it's not the highly-praised BF Hampers either. Mine arrived, as usual, a few days before Xmas, and I'm currently celebrating this happy news story with a large glass of Hennessy Cognac and an even larger Montecristo from the aforementioned hamper.
Chit Chat regulars will be further heartened to learn that the notoriously under-worked Newham Police are hot on the trail of the recidivists, some of whom might not even work in the football industry.
Take your pick and savour this pleasing twist of fate. Boot on the other foot this time and no mistake.
