The guardian is like going on a tropical ship cruise. Sailing along in the sunshine as if nothing is happening - and ignoring lots of nasty issues and questions as you sip your G & T after dinner in Notting Hill land

Mr btf- I read that excrement because it's more interesting than the Guardian without the brown coverage! Also unbiarsed and informative. At least I know where it's coming from!

What is so insidious is that the guardian represents a rather large group (a minority) but still a large group.
Many recruits pass through the guardian adverts/pages and hold similar views and get promoted into decision making bodies. Despite many denigrating the guardian, it is very influential,- well it used to be. It has become a bit of a comic like the other press it is critical of. |

By:
Unbiarsed, it definitely is, but I was told you have to be wary of stool pidgeons,?

Speaking of the Guardian, where is their most avid Betfair reader, the forumite known as Facts?

Unfortunately Guardian readers are also allowed to vote. Not that voting changes anything.

The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country.

![]() Yes, Minister: Newspapers Hacker: Don’t tell me about the press. I know exactly who reads the papers: The Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country; The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country; The Times is read by the people who actually do run the country; The Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country; The Financial Times is read by people who own the country; The Morning Star is read by people who think the country ought to be run by another country; And The Daily Telegraph is read by people who think it is. Sir Humphrey: Prime Minister, what about the people who read The Sun? Bernard: Sun readers don’t care who runs the country, as long as she’s got big tits. |

Well, to be honest, I can see why the BBC didn't consider it important enough for the national news. Maybe it appeared locally? Like, VERY locally.

Probably right naydam, but the barstewards are always droning on about localised weather/flooding etc

More important?

Yes,

But if it was farage on breastfeeding on a LOCAL broadcast - 5 stories would be run on the guardian for starters. Lets face it
they are sh!t scared of the rise of UKIP - whatever that means. |
|
By:
like the story in the mirror about 3 ukip thugs attacking a disabled labour supporter
what happened to that story - and several others come on someone has rattled the current cosy situation at westminster and they fkn hate it and will do anything to stop it along with all their sycophantic media supporters. |
|
By:
I would say that somebody is seeing stories where they don't actually exist. Whereas others are making them up where they don't actually exist!
How on earth can you say "IF it was Farage on breastfeeding.......5 stories would be run"? They wouldn't. It's in YOUR head. Try sticking to actualities instead of far-fetched ideas of your own invention. |

I beg to differ. ![]() Farage commented on women who sit out in the open in the 5 star restaurant at Claridges while breastfeeding. He agreed with Claridges that they could be more discreet. Claridges, as you are no doubt aware, is in London. IT must have been a quiet day in the rest of the south of England as far as news was concerned. The BBC television news pages only hold 4 items per page, yet the Farage story of Claridges was on London, Essex, Kent, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Surrey, Sussex, I-O-W and Hampshire, Dorset and Devon news pages. Meanwhile, a tory councillor who was done for fiddling, was contained to the Cornwall page where he committed the crime. A few days before this, Farage apparently blamed immigration for a traffic jam on the M4 that made him late for a meeting in Wales, but it was put on the same news pages as the Claridges story, all over the southern half of the UK. I posted at the time 'I hope Farage doesn't fart tomorrow, or the BBC regional news pages new will be jammed full.' as they tend to leave anything negative about UKIP on there for days. Roger Bird, the UKIP man sending texts to the thick ex-Labour woman was another fit up that hit all pages, until it was discovered he had saved a lot of texts in his phone from her, then suddenly, it all vanished. Now we have a party who want to burn down a UKIP shop, yet there's not one word on BBC television news pages about it. |

CMAT, equity, fairness, and truthful balanced reporting are strangers to our self serving media and their masters. The greedy pigs want the through to themselves, God forbid that anyone should gatecrash the smug incestuous, relationship that the established parties enjoy with the cap tugging servile media.

Again I bow to your greater knowledge of cartography. Most of those3 places you have itemised are just 'London' to me. Dorset, Devon and the Isle of Wight probably didn't have a lot going on...so you just stick on the most 'important' (ie London) local tittle-tattle.
It's something to tut about whilst applying a bit more daub or trimming the thatch. ![]() |

Funny you should mention that. Yesterday I was going to respond in this thread with a story in the Daily Mail about a UKIP candidate who was going into a school to discuss politics. As a prop, he planned to use an anti-UKIP 'map of the UKIP world' written by some opponent of UKIP. It contained references to 'Bongo-Bongo' land and the like. The article was one of outrage - against UKIP!! - for using such racist items. I wanted to use it as a classic example of how UKIP get the balme for everything, but it has disappeared off the DM site. Maybe even they realised how biased it was. |

Anything against UKIP or the EDL is plastered all over the BBC and the Guardian. Tommy Robinson/Stephen Lennon, the ex-head of the EDL, gave an hour speech to the Oxford Union recently. You can guess which types tried to get it cancelled. But the OU refused and stated 'We believe in free speech.' Not that any of the luvvie 'Lloyds Bankers' would watch it, but they'd certainly moan about it. |

EU-FUNDED LECTURER RIDICULED AFTER CLAIMING UKIP CAMPAIGN TO STOP EU MIGRANTS EATING BRITISH BABIES
A lecturer at London’s left-wing School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) has drawn ridicule after delivering a “fictionalised”, hour-long talk about the UK Independence Party, in which he used spoof posters that stated UKIP claimed EU migrants would eat British babies. Ryan Brading, who is a Teaching Fellow at the Department of Development Studies at SOAS, delivered the remarks in a lecture entitled, “From populist rage to institutional norms. The case of Venezuela and UKIP”, as a part of the “Populismus” series of lectures, funded by the European Union. During the 50 minute long speech, Brading cited a number of examples to students of how UKIP’s campaigning was getting “very, very aggressive” — and prompted awkward silences from the audience as he claimed that a spoof poster created by online, anti-UKIP trolls, was real. The poster read: “Guess whose children EU migrants want to eat? Vote UKIP on Thursday May 22nd”. The material was obviously not genuine, though Brading didn’t pick up on this. He then went on to falsely claim that UKIP has said that every single man, woman and child in Bulgaria and Romania would come to the UK, before getting the population figures for the respective countries incorrect for the period in question. UKIP actually campaigned to stop a further door in Britain’s immigration system opening when Romania and Bulgaria gained full access to the EU’s freedom of movement in January of 2014. A UKIP spokesperson told Breitbart London: “I’d say this was hilarious, but actually, here is a series funded by the EU, which means the money is coming from the European taxpayer. Furthermore, parents and the students themselves are paying thousands of pounds for the pleasure of being presented with farcical lectures and outright lies. Brading should be removed from his position immediately.” The lecture was uploaded to YouTube several days ago, and appears to be part of a Greek government and EU funded series promoting left-wing academics, ideas, and speakers. The Populismus website reads: “Populism is dynamically and unexpectedly back on the agenda. Latin American governments that dismiss the so-called ‘Washington consensus’ and extreme right-wing parties and movements in Europe advancing xenophobic and racist stereotypes exemplify this trend. At the same time, emerging social movements that resist the current administration of the global financial crisis (from the ‘Indignants’ in Spain and Greece to ‘Occupy Wall Street’) and the Tea Party movement in the US have also been branded ‘populist’.” Mr Brading did not respond to Breitbart London’s request for comment on the matter. http://www.breitbart.com/london/2014/12/30/eu-funded-lecturer-ridiculed-after-claiming-ukip-campaign-to-stop-eu-migrants-eating-british-babies/ |
