Yes it has actually. There was a programme called 'The Black and White Minstrels Show" and millions of people used to tune in to watch it week after week for years. The BBC would kill for those sorts of ratings today. Not one person seemed to complain about it for years until various white Professional Offence Takers got involved.

While the show started off being broadcast in black-and-white, the show was one of the very first to be shown in colour on BBC2 in 1967.
Cant see point in that it was fine in B & W
