http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/police-seize-possessions-of-rough-sleepers-in-crackdown-on-homelessness-8631665.html

The rozzers have confiscated blankets, sleeping bags and food from a group of homeless people in North London. I've not long got back from walking Muttley and it is bitterly cold out there, probably -1 or -2. It sounds like an April Fool's prank but it actually happened.
So if this is a crackdown on homeless people how is taking their few possessions and bit of food that has been donated away from them going to do anything other than cause even more hardship? Can someone please explain it to me as I'm just not getting it at all.

I only twigged when i read the last paragraph.

The move has also sparked outrage from the voluntary sector. Rita Chadha, head of the Refugee and Migrant Forum of East London, said the move was dangerous as well as confusing. “We are going through one of the coldest summers we have ever had, it’s a strong possibility that someone could die,” she said.

Horrible thing to do, taking away the only possessions of homeless people. No matter what time of year.

1) Redbridge is not in London. It doesn't have a London postcode, it's in Essex.

2) It borders Ilford, which is also in Essex and is often misdescribed as east London.

3) Ilford borders Manor Park, which is in Newham, and is part of London as it has the London postcode of E.12.

4) Therefore, if Redbridge was in London, it would be east, not north.

5) Romford is now described as east London by idiots like the BBC. Get your facking reporter to walk from Manor Park, which is eastv London, to Romford which isn't, on a freezing cold night and see if he changes his mind.

Going to seem like a callous b@stard here, but it doesn't make it clear If they are Brits or not.

If they are, then I agree with others, but I suspect with a name like Jaskowiak And a spokesman from a refugee and migrant group, I suspect they are not. If so, I couldn't care less. If you're struggling and you've got no home, go back to your own country where they can help you. Why should we have to put up with beggars and homeless immigrants dossing in public toilets and parks.

It's like the Romanians dossing up Marble Arch. Why should these people be let in at all, let alone if they have nowhere to live.

No Laugh

rant coming...

But having spent arfur senchree in the east end, I know wots norf, wots sarf, wots east 'n wots fackin' west, and more importantly, wots London 'n wot aint.

Jus' becoz a 'Lloyds Banker' (I'm George Bernard you can work that out) invents a new London Borough, such as 'Dagenham and Redbridge' it don't mean it's in London....innit??

Much the same as Wembley is apparently now in north west London.

Is it bollocks.

It used to be in Middlesex, but jus' 'cos Middlesex was taken off the maps, Wembley 'as to be somewhere, but that don't make it London.

Just becoz it was taken over by the spreading mass (or mess) of London, don't make it London.

On BBC news television news pages this morning there's a report of a  stabbing in Ilford, north east London.

see my 23:40 post

When West 'am and the surrarndin' areas were taken into London from Essex, they got a proper East London postcode, and surprisingly they all begin with the fackin' letter 'E'

If it ain't got a proper London postcode, I don't give a fack where it is, but it ain't in London.

If you ask the fackwits in charge they will no doubt say 'We can't start dishing out 'E' London postcodes now, it's too late.'

BUT, it didn't appear to be too late for the Olympic Park, which for the geographically unaware, is completely surrounded by Stratford's E.15 postcode, but it got the new number of E.20 just 2 years ago.

Per apps the daft bastard who dishes out postcodes should have taken the next available number, which was E.19.

Everybody knows that Walford (Eastenders, the BBC bollocks) is E.20.

It's said that if anybody checked the geographical location of when they speak of the Eastenders London Underground Station, Walford East, it's between Bow Road and West Ham.

Which makes it E.3 OR E.15. but never mind.

And as east London was numbered alphabetically, Walford should be E.17, but that's the real district of Walthamstow.  Walford needs renaming with soomething coming after 'Woo' (for Woodford) in the alphabet. and it would be E.19, not facking 20.

For those who fink 'does it matter?' try living in a borough CLOSE TO EAST LONDON, but not actually IN EAST LONDON, and see how your house and car insurance premiums are no different.

'ave a butchers at a map of London postcodes, and then see how far imaginary 'London Boroughs' have gone outside London.

Ilford, Romford, Hornchurch and lots more, used to be in Essex.

Bromley, Orpington, Downham and lots more, used to be in Kent.

Harrow, Peirvale, Wembley and lots more, used to be in Middlesex.

Croydon, now one of the the biggest sh!tholes south of the Thames, used to be in Surrey.

That'll learn ya...

rant over... Happy

The accepted common-use definition is gradually changing.

In the future, London will be all that is inside M25.

Legal definitions will catch up later.
Report call me a taxi December 29, 2014 1:15 PM GMT
Build a facking great wall round the M25, equip it with gun turrets every 50 yards, hang the black flag of Islam over East Ham Town Hall, and shoot any facker who wanders outside the wall, who's not welcome outside it.

If this isn't implemented, in 50 years, Newmarket will be a London Borough.

If Farage gets any power  there will be some changes.
Report Slicer December 29, 2014 1:26 PM GMT
a) He won't get any power (mores the pity) and
b) if he does, expect more problems with those of a certain religious persuasion.
