I must be missing something. For some reason, I thought it was a conspiracy-type thriller.

Not a kids' film is it? On at 9pm.

Read all the books as my son and daughter thought they were terrific....well the first 2 books , 3rd one just squeezing the pips.
The first book was very good .

I haven't seen any of the films , but I have seen Battle Royale a couple of times , a Japanese earlier similar story , which is good.

It stars Jennifer Lawrence in skintight clothing. What's not to like.

On a serious note. I liked it very much tbh. I think 'kids film' is pretty near the knuckle. Many bits in it that I wouldn't like my child watching.

It's based on a Teen fiction book

teeny film is probably more accurate than kids' film, defo not one for me though - I tend to prefer real life type films

The target audience is 'young adults'

I thought it was pretty good tbf

Some rather silly bits though.....

Why ,when the group that are working together have her stuck up a tree , does the mug chase her up there with sword when they have bows and arrows ???

And having belatedly decided using the bows is a better bet why do they give up after firing a couple Confused They have dozens of arrows , how many times could they miss ffs

Also why don't the district 2 girl just not kill Katniss after disarming/overpowering her , instead of starting a Bond Villain style speech which allows the black guy to sneak up behind .

Then why does the black guy just not kill them both ??? If - as i understood it - it was because Katniss had helped the little girl - then how the fk does he know that anyway ?

And if he was so bothered about the little girl then why wasn't he with her himself Confused

And even them wtf does he just not kill Katniss regardless of what ever happened to the little girl as he has to kill her at some point ??

Young Adults are basically 13-4 year olds these days. Next you'll be watching Twilight and the Vampire Diaries and be surprised they are a bit silly.

I don't get the Jennifer Lawrence fan club thingy.

As for the film, toddlers is the age group it targeted..

Better than Noah, mind. Then again so was Jaws 3..
