I Forgot to add, if he had Smashed the padlocks off this gate 20 meters from his property, He would have got Flooded out and perhaps some of his Neighbours.

Typical 'I'm alright Jack' attitude. He had no authority to break the lock. It was not his property. Also, he can't prove that his home, or others, WOULD have been flooded and nor would he have any certainty with regard to the damage he might cause to other properties.
He's just the sort of 'look after number one' person who would lower the Thames barrier to save his cabbage patch! We are all in this together. |

The Thames Barrier is not designed to save east London, which is where it sits, it's designed to save central London.
A repeat of the 1953 floods will mean they close the barrier. And Canning Town, North Woolwich, Silvertown, Custom House, Beckton, Cyprus and the docks, will be flooded worse than 1953. |
