John Bishop was on a panel show in ireland that was truly awful. He's not funny and is just another comedian that people laugh at as its the in thing to do.
|
|
By:
RLKingPunter, walofs, only caught a few of minutes while channel hopping. Dire, dirge, dross, devoid of any redeeming entertainment feature or value.

The amount of comedians on tv that are stealing a living is unreal. The likes of Miranda Hart, Sarah can't think of her second name are simply not funny. The bbc just shove these comedians down people's throat. Another one stealing a living is lee evans.

Mrs Browns Boys and Citizen Khan starting soon

the French guy with no socks wtf was that about, and they were laughing
|

Comedy nowadays is not really comedy. Its alot of people laughing at because other people are laughing. I bet if you asked 100 people coming out of say a Lee evans gig to tell you a funny bit most would not bet able to. Great comedians are a dying breed. I know comedy is subjective like most things but the dross that is served up in the guise of comedy theses days is unreal. John Bishop is simply not funny. His material is just dire.

The BBC have specialized in gifting the maximum amounts of license payers money to the least talented Woss, Chris Evans, all the above mentioned etc, et facking cetra. How the fck this is not classed as fraud or money laundering is beyond comprehension.

By:
I'd watch more of Bishop than I would that Citizen Khan crap.

By:
And yet stand-up comedians regularly pack out the O2 and other arenas
There's a whole lot of 'the masses' that are being forced to laugh (and buy tickets presumably) because everyone tells them to. |
|
By:
Yeah, he's a great family entertainer, not surprised he is so popular. Citizen Khan is dire.
|
|
By:
I've never been to see these comedians on stage, am I missing anything?
To be honest I don't watch many of them on TV. |

Many years ago I went to see Jim Davidson at Blazers nightclub in Windsor. Even the grevilles were laughing.

I can't abide, in fact, abhor this useless unfunny rednosed Runcornian twot..

John Bishop is living off the back of about 7 minutes of material which were the 7 minutes he did on Michael McIntyre's comedy roadshow which was quite funny
However since then he has really struggled - I saw him at the echo arena a couple of years ago and as much as I like comedy, I was bored sh!tless. His whole routine was about himself meeting famous people - no humour just story telling |
|
By:
Watched about half of it and switched off, it was terrible, just came over a bit ... cheap.

Agree with most of the above.
It was fcking diabolical sh1t.comedian,my ar$e.Almost as bad as Russell Howard. |

Steady on....

The comics had very short sets, and markedly different styles which made it seem disjointed and unfunny (as you needed a couple of minutes to adjust).
Worse than that, it seemed very old-fashioned. With the Tiller Girls, unconnected variety acts and especially the self-indulgent dance routine at the end, I was almost expecting John Bishop to morph into Billy Cotton Jnr and shout, "wakey, wakey!" |
|
By:
I just don't get the bloke at all yet he is no doubt making fortunes so fair play to him in that regard. About as funny as Chalfonts.
