have a jolly birthday hank . my 40th was pub , epsom for oaks , pub , restaurant , strippers pub . top day out . hope yours is same . ..then do it all again at 51, 52, 53, etc ...

A walker or walking frame is a tool for disabled or elderly people who need additional support to maintain balance or stability while walking. The British English common equivalent term for a walker is Zimmer frame, a genericised trademark from Zimmer Holdings, a major manufacturer of such devices and joint replacement parts.
Walkers started appearing in the early 1950s. The first US patent was awarded in 1953 to William Cribbes Robb, of Stretford, England, for a device called "walking aid", which had been filed with the British patent office in August 1949.[1] Two variants with wheels were both awarded US patents in May 1957,[2][3] and the first non-wheeled design that was called a "walker" was patented in 1965 by Elmer F. Ries of Cincinnati, Ohio.[4] The first walker to resemble modern walkers was patented in 1970 by Alfred A. Smith of Van Nuys, California.[5] The first walker cane hybrid was developed by Dannie H. King, Ph.D. of Carlsbad, California in 2009[6]

I always thought of mine as the 1st of the downhill b'days.
The sudden realisation I wouldn't get to be a footballer for England, or a young film star. Girls no longer looking back at me, seeing this dashing, well handsome, slim, fit bloke. Instead seeing an overweight balding perv who's as old as their dad.
Too old for astronaut training.
No longer being "That young bloke over there", rather "that man" or even worse; "old man".
Having a hairy back (and shoulders) where it replanted after evacuating my head.
But that might just be me.... A miserable bastad.
Now have a lovely xmas too (bah, humbug - I'm a mis b about that too).
