You can't beat the Pros.
You had a break from chit chat for a while Mc M ? |
|
By:
I've been reading & studying a bit Lep .. they All say you can't beat the pro's .. and not to try & pick bottoms .. but I've successfully picked the absolute bottom of every stock I've ever bought (give a point or 3)
Yes bit of a break ... the poker's been killing me mentally & have to quit soon I feel like a Chinese Apple Slave .. but a few too many negative attitudes towards me on here I feel .. although I love you all like my best friends .. takes allsorts to make a forum I appreciate .. but this is real life to me |
|
By:
Mc, the negative comments come from losers and the plain jealous, fck em, there are as many on here who wish you well.

Are you buying actual shares or on tradefair?
|
|
By:
ty Fox .. though I also realize why haters exist a bit more now
check out The 50th law (50 cent & Robert Greene) very good book Yes actual shares not monopoly stuffs ![]() |

Just had a quick look on Amazon, looks a really good read, Will download to my tablet later. Cheers.

Shares are just madness .. it's the real world we live in imo
It's also so very simples you might not like hip hop .. but 50 cent is the real deal .. top fella imo ![]() |
|
By:
The advantage of real shares of course is you're not just making money om a tick or two in a graph, if you sit on them it pays dividends. Literally
![]() I'll get my coat. |
|

I read Robert greenes 'Mastery' book .. but the things 50 cent says about haters & getting even kinda ring true with me .. his mother was a hustler shot dead .. he was also shot 9 times by a hitman .. but never gave up .. just kept one step ahead of the game
you can listen free on youtube Fox but is narrated by a complete nonce as with all audiobooks ![]() |
|
By:
Stephen Fry?

Will stick with the book only £5.39 for the download. Can always use tx to voice if feeling lazy

Cool
Tony Robbins also has his new book , Money Master the Game , it starts well but kinda gets wishy washy imo , was a big fan of his previous books helped me a fair bit , but interesting they also say the same as Leopard , you can't beat the Pro's in the market ![]() |
|
By:
Yes true Just checking , dividends is what I always tell myself , but then the stockprice rockets & I'm tempted to just sell for the grand profit , could've bought Tesco twice now & sold , that's why it's a traders game nowadays

50 cent book isn't anything to do with stocks btw , but tells it like it is regarding haters & choosing your time to get aggressive in a positive way https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73FoM0xQDPs he's def walked the talk |
|
By:
Robert Greene's a very smart guy so wouldn't of worked with him otherwise
|
|
By:
The 50th Law is the fourth book by Greene—written collaboratively with rapper 50 Cent—and was published in 2009.
The book mixes talk of strategy and fearlessness by supplementing anecdotes from 50 Cent's rise as both a young urban hustler and as an up-and-coming musician with lessons from various historical figures. Each of the 10 chapters in the book explains a factor of fearlessness and begins by telling how 50 learned this "Fearless Philosophy" in Southside Queens. The book debuted at #5 on The New York Times Bestseller list and was a USA Today bestseller. |
|
By:
If you're not interested in 50 cent (I wasn't too much tbh) his 48 laws of power is probably his best book
I read Mastery but gets very longwinded & quite boring , but with a few priceless paragraphs thrown in by himself It's an increasingly fearful world we live in though , so learning to be fearless when it counts is valuable (just relate it to stocks ,betting etc) ![]() |

Buy buy buy. No. Sell sell sell. Bunch of guessers the lot of you. Grow up and stop bigging yourself up via pretending you know what is going on.
No one understands economics. |
|
By:
I don't pretend to & admit there's a lot I don't know but am trying to learn more , but the market swings are surprisingly simple to predict if you follow the markets
My trouble is when I'm on a winner I find it hard to sell & start to think of holding long term for dividends etc Tesco has so much bad news already factored into it that one bit of good news & it'll rise again The upswings can come much faster than you imagine though , I'm up over 10% on them already & is money I can't make on here tbh |
|
By:
I've missed out too much in the past (2008 crash I bought & panic sold) & feel a bit robbed having wasted my time trying to win big money sports trading as it always ends up in a mess
![]() If you have good money in the bank the markets are where it should be used to best advantage imo It's all risk at the end of the day , life is risky full stop , some are just too scared to try & then berate others for trying |

No one understands economics. If you look at the longterm chart of Tesco.you will see that there is massive support at 150/160,it was only a matter of time before these levels would be tested again. and on the 15th duly produced a positive Double Bottom (Intra Day) Buy Signal at 155p. |

I'd rather not Rob , but good luck

Grow up and stop bigging yourself up via pretending you know what is going on.
Radio 4 had a markets expert on this Monday to explain the sharp drop in the market. He came out with the usual bollox, and ended with ''there'll certainly be no Santa rally this year.'' 4 days later it's put on 363 points That was the opinion of a so called expert. Still their guesses are as good as most people's. |
|
By:
I don't fully understand all the technical signals seaview , like Dr Crippen said before there was a sidewards move which indicated buy strength
I'd love the real charts but am not really a day trader , more weekly , mothly holds I just do my own analysis & am prepared to wait for my moment to pounce (thousands of others will be thinking the same as me) are there any good books or sites that I can learn more from ![]() |
|
By:
I'm not a novice , have studied price movements for years & works for me
I'm very rarely wrong if I feel strong enough to buy but would like to buy into more markets over time like the S&P500 as I don't want to ever leave money in a bank account again when it should be invested wisely |
|
By:
I read an interesting stat on hedge funds , only an absolute miniscule percentage actually beat the market either , they just happily rob Joe public of fee's !

I remember a newspaper article, prob the telegraph, rounding up all the experts' opinions of where the ftse would end up year end. This was about 1998. At the time it was about 4800. One said 3000. One said 7000. All the rest were randomly in between the two. You could have trained a monkey to put a pin in between those two extremes. I mean literally.
One of the sagest bits of advice my dad ever gave me was his response to my question "been reading all about this finance and stuff and I don't reckon I understand economics"" He said, simply... "No one does". I reckon he was bang on the money there. |

Hi
sorry guys I completely crashed out last night after shopping Only meant to be half an hour but shops were full of trollies & screaming kids ![]() I sent an email seaview ![]() I recently started using shareprice.co.uk padlock but is just a standard site with £10 trading fee that anybody can use I agree G1 jockey Oil is still at a big low tbh , but when the FTSE rallies everything automatically rises without any real reasoning Though Tesco did outperform the market with a healthy 5% gain |
