The chilling sounds of a woman pleading for forgiveness was heard coming from the home where eight children were found stabbed to death on Friday in Cairns.
Senior police told the Herald Sun that Mersane Warria, also known as Raina Thaiday, was the name of the person of interest in the devastating massacre. It is understood the children were stabbed to death inside the house.
The 34-year-old remains in Cairns Hospital in a stable condition and will undergo a mental health assessment. On Friday night police had still not laid any charges. The 20-year-old brother of most of the victims alerted authorities.
It was also revealed that neighbours said they heard a woman screaming in a mixture of English and Torres Strait Creole, a native language of islanders.
About 9pm on Thursday night a woman was claimed to have yelled: 'Don’t let them take them away from us. God bless us. Forgive me for what I’ll do.'

It's in The Mail, so it can't be true.

Ask Fscts, the Guardian reader.

Guardian :

The mother of seven of the children, 34, is being treated for stab wounds to the chest and police say she is “assisting with enquiries” but declined to confirm she was a suspect.

Detective Inspector Bruno Asnicar – who moved early to reassure the public that there were no concerns for anyone else’s safety – said it was “very, very early days but she’s in a stable condition”.

Got to be the mother then.

I also question what is happening to modern mothers...they appear to be killing an awful lot of their
own children...hmmmmm????

Animals will sometimes do this. mammals, I was not aware it was part of human behaviour....
Incredibly I think they sometimes see this as protecting their own children

If she thought she was going to have them taken away.....then by killing them she may have thought she would be protecting them from any future harm.
