Workers and Members of Trade Unions Meet
Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- Workers and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) met at the Central Hall of Workers Monday on the occasion of the third anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il. They vowed to uphold with loyalty the Songun revolutionary leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un while holding Kim Jong Il in high esteem as the eternal leader of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people.
The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of Kim Jong Il.
Hyon Sang Ju, chairman of the Central Committee of the GFTUK, made a report to be followed by speeches.
The reporter and speakers said Kim Jong Il worked heart and soul for the prosperity of the country and happiness of the people.
Putting forward workers as the core and vanguard unit of building a thriving nation, Kim Jong Il brightly indicated the road ahead of the GFTUK in each period of the developing revolution and led it to perform its honorable mission and duty, they said.
They pledged to bring into reality the lifelong desire and plan of Kim Jong Il under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.
They stressed the need to glorify for all ages the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il and bring earlier the final victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche true to the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Un.
The meeting was attended by Choe Ryong Hae, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials and members of the GFTUK and other workers.
Kim Jong Il's Feats for Turning DPRK into Economic Giant
Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- With the approach of the third anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il (December 17), the people in the DPRK recollect with deep emotion the great feats he had performed for turning the country into an economic giant.
Kim Jong Il laid down the Juche-based economic construction line of simultaneously developing the light industry and agriculture while giving priority to the development of defence industry.
And he clearly indicated the orientation and ways for building an economic power, which suggested rapidly developing electricity, coal and metal industries and railway transport, doing double-cropping on a large scale, updating light industrial factories and paying preferential efforts to the production of basic consumer goods.
In June Juche 85 (1996) when giving field guidance to the Anbyon Youth Power Station near to completion, he praised the soldier-builders for having unfailingly carried out their supreme commander's order under the very difficult conditions. And he called their indomitable fighting traits the revolutionary soldier spirit, urging all the people to follow it.
Consequently, the spirit of Kanggye was created and a big production upsurge witnessed at the Songjin Steel Complex and the Ranam Coal-mining Machine Complex, bringing about an epochal turn in the building of an economic power.
Such signal achievements were made in the country as successful launch of earth satellites, large-scale land improvement, completion of Kaechon-Lake Thaesong and Paekma-Cholsan waterways and construction of many minor hydraulic power stations.
With a view to greeting the year 2012, the birth centenary of President Kim Il Sung, with eye-catching economic successes, Kim Jong Il visited the Chollima Steel Complex on Dec. 24, 2008 to kindle a torch of fresh revolutionary upsurge in the economic field.
Thanks to his ardent patriotism, energetic field guidance and devoted efforts, the DPRK grew stronger in national power. And the country could witness the establishment of Juche-based production systems of iron, fertilizer and vinalon President Kim Il Sung desired so much and greet a history of industrial revolution in the new century through a drive of breaking through the cutting edge.
His plan for building an economic power is now creditably carried into practice by supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

Hollywood studios routinely cook their books to make sure their films never go into taxable profit — for instance, Return Of The Jedi has never, on paper, made a profit.

Sony “made a mistake” by axing the controversial comedy The Interview, which depicts the assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, President Obama said Friday.

Speaking after the FBI pinned the blame on North Korea for a massive hack of Sony Pictures aimed at stopping the film’s release, Obama said: “We cannot have a society in which some dictator some place can start imposing censorship here in the United States because if somebody is able to intimidate folks out of releasing a satirical movie, imagine what they start doing when they see a documentary that they don’t like, or news reports that they don’t like.

“Or even worse imagine if producers and distributors and others start engaging in self-censorship because they don’t want to offend the sensibilities of somebody whose sensibilities probably need to be offended.”

“That’s not who we are. That’s not what America is about.”

Obama said he was sympathetic to Sony’s plight but added: “I wish they had spoken to me first.”

It seems the real problem they had with the film and why these threats were made is the way they handled the ending with Kim's assassination.  Originally his head explodes apparently...... but that was toned down a bit and changed to this (although sounds equally as bad):

"The shell that’s launched from the tank flies toward Kim’s helicopter in super-slow motion. When the shell strikes, the helicopter bursts into flames (again, in slow motion). Then there’s a cut to Kim, whose countdown is about to reach zero. What results is a moment of grotesque comedy that shocked me with its gory audacity: the wave of heat and shock makes Kim’s face waver—then his hair, eyebrows, and even skin begin to catch fire."

A very controversial so-called comedy !
