WTF is this thread about? Yes, there clearly is an agenda but it is not the one the anti-PC police has detected.

Notice the bias? It's not to women's sport at all. The BBC has clearly been overrun by the egg-chasing lobby.

Take out the Olympic years, and rugby has won 5 out of 11.

There seems to be a bias towards winning teams according to that list.

And a bias against Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish teams, but clearly the rugger buggers have got the game by the balls.

The whole event was a disaster.  I'm all for promoting women's sport but this award was a joke, albeit in a weak year.

So it wasn't really a historical win another coxless team won in 2004

I'm not sure what's worse the England Women's Rugby Union team (who no one would be able to name a member of their team) winning it or giving it to the Ryder cup team ?
Golf is not even a team sport and in the Ryder cup they are already in the final and only have one other team to beat and a lot of the team aren't British

It should actually be a club team and it not a country - does the team have to be British ?
Give it to Real Madrid ? Give it to St Helens ?

Don't be surprised if England's women's cricket team win it next year - the amount of money the ECB are pumping into the women's game they should be able to beat everyone and the BBC I'm sure would love to give it to them
