I agree with Tolstoy on this.

To put "meat" on the bone.
“A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite. And to act so is immoral.” ― Leo Tolstoy |

“I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men.”
― Leonardo da Vinci |

Albert Einstein
“It is my view that the vegetarian manner of living, by its purely physical effect on the human temperament, would most beneficially influence the lot of mankind.” ― Albert Einstein |

“If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian.”
― Paul McCartney |

“Even as a junkie I stayed true [to vegetarianism] - 'I shall have heroin, but I shan't have a hamburger.' What a sexy little paradox.”
― Russell Brand, My Booky Wook |

“I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men.”

you've done that one

While we ourselves are the living graves of murdered beasts, how can we expect any ideal conditions on this earth?”
― George Bernard Shaw |

well read it twice!

Even though I was about to sarcastically reply to Mr. Mann, there is a possibility that his philosophy could be more widely adapted and applied to the benefit of all, but I suppose that the Prisoner's Dilemma would feck it up.
No, the Prisoner's Dilemma fecks it up, imo. |

Don't worry Patra.98% reply sarcastically or critically when I go off on one about animal welfare.

When we genetically modify ourselves to include chloroplasts, all will be well.

"If it has four legs and is not a chair, if it has two wings and flies but is not an aeroplane, and if it swims and is not a submarine, the Cantonese will eat it."

wow that's steep, had to look up chloroplasts.
|

By:
To be optimistic, we will eventually feed directly from sunshine. We do already indirectly but apparently it causes problems. And why not? Now I've lost interest.
|
|
By:
No, I think the optimistic route is amazing chemically engineered drugs or biologically people. To produce non-bastards.
The pessimistic route will probably win, though. |
|
By:
Ah! Biologically engineered people I meant.
|
|
By:
If they are obvious villains - we should kill them.
Let us absorb chloroplasts and integrate their sugars - and then try to ignore stuff we have no control over. |
|
By:
Oh. Rest easy all. Trust, me - this wont turn out well.
|
|
By:
In the short term, surely the smart ones should just sit back and mock silently, no?
|
|
By:
Smart people are usually seriously shattered by sex.

Was vegetarian for about 12 years. One day walking in the hospital corridors I was really stressed and craved a big hamburger. I had not thought about one for a very long time. The next day I stopped being vegetarian. Don't eat meat every day, and still like a lot of my vege meals I made.

By:
But títs are just so comical, though. And surely the embarrassment that women feel for the absurdity of their vaginas explains most of their evil, thus making them mockable and dealable with. No? I've been wrong before.
|

By:
Rest easy. Try to find some vanishing thread of human decency amongst your mindless voraciousness. Or we could just kill every UK invader ahead of us.
|
|
By:
Ha! The shameless hyprocrisy.
(I'm not saying you're a UK invader though. Don't worry about that.) |
|
By:
Hey. I just lost concentration for a few seconds.
|
|
By:
This wasn't how it was meant to be.

By:
But, Bodil, consider you're intellect!
Consider the irony and mock freely! If the aim of the game is to maximise pleasure, it seems impossibly perverse that the game cannot be won. All you can do is leave life with net positive happiness. The poor fools that inherit this doomed rock trouble me not, for I did not invite them... |

Did him. Duly mocked.

Was done though, afterwards; the sober fúcker.
